Volunteer Partners

In order to ensure that enough volunteer-power gets to where it’s needed, Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen partners with other food assistance agencies who are also in need of volunteers.  If  you can’t find an open spot via our SignUp.com page that works for your schedule, consider reaching out to one of our partners:

Community Dining Room in Branford is in need of volunteers Monday through Friday to help in the kitchen and dining room (9:30 am – 1:30 pm).  They also need drivers to pick up food donations and deliver prepared meals to homebound clients (on variable days and times).  For more information, please contact Courtney Rosenberg, Volunteer Coordinator, via email or by calling (203) 488-9750, ext. 2.

Food In Service to the Homebound (FISH) of Greater New Haven delivers groceries to people who are homebound and experiencing food insecurity in New Haven, West Haven, and Hamden.  They are in need of volunteers to drive and deliver groceries to their clients, Monday through Friday, 12:00 – 3:00 pm.  To sign up to volunteer, visit their website for more information.

Loaves & Fishes is a pantry that provide food, clothing, and community every Saturday morning at the Church of St. Paul & St. James in Wooster Square.  To learn more about their volunteer opportunities, visit their website or inquire via email.

Sunrise Cafe is a volunteer-driven “soup kitchen” that provides breakfast on weekdays at the Church of St. Paul & St. James in Wooster Square.  They are a program of Liberty Community Services.  To learn more about their volunteer opportunities, inquire via email.
